January 31, 2012 - the first meeting of the Public Advisory Committee (PAC) for the Southgate Organic Materials Recovery Centre (OMRC) was held today. The establishment of the PAC is an interim measure that is being initiated on a voluntary basis as part of Lystek’s effort to maintain open and transparent dialogue with the community. The PAC will be provided with regular updates on the project as well as opportunities for members to make suggestions regarding the Centre. This initiative will provide another, practical avenue to facilitate a two-way flow of information between the OMRC and the public. The PAC includes participation from a variety of community members, all of whom have volunteered their time to act as local sources of information regarding the Centre.
