Over the coming months, and beyond, we will be working in cooperation with the community to build the Southgate Organic Materials Recovery Centre. This initiative will demonstrate what can be accomplished when technology, people and a desire to change the past are combined to create sustainable solutions for real-world challenges. It is widely recognized that the current practice of dumping unprocessed biosolids on farm lands or into landfills simply cannot continue. Incineration is not the answer either. Using a very expensive process to burn material that has real value, and that ultimately only emits more harmful Green House Gases into the air simply, does not make sense. These are just some of the reasons we are excited about working with the community of Southgate to build this exemplary facility. We have an opportunity to do something we can all be very proud of, for many years to come. This newsletter will keep the community fully informed every step of the way.
